Pokemon GO now reveals its community day dates for next season, which will result in cool benefits like increased shiny encounter rates and more.
Niantic, the developer behind Pokémon GO, has announced the Community Day dates for Season 17, which is set to kick off on December 3, 2024.
As with previous seasons, Season 17 will feature multiple Community Day events and special limited-time activities centered around a seasonal theme.
Currently, Season 16, titled “Max Out,” focuses on Dynamax Pokémon from Pokémon Sword and Shield.
This season introduced Max Battles, where 40 Pokémon Trainers can team up in groups of four to battle Gigantamax Pokémon.
Players can also participate in monthly Community Day events to catch new Pokémon, with opportunities to find shiny variants in the wild.
The first Community Day of Season 17 will take place from December 21 to 22, 2024.
If tradition holds, the final Community Day of the year will feature a selection of Pokémon from past events, allowing players to catch any they may have missed.
Looking ahead, the first Community Day of 2025 is scheduled for January 5, followed by the inaugural Community Day Classic on January 25 and the season’s last Community Day on February 9, 2025.
Specific Pokémon for these events have yet to be announced, as Niantic is preparing further details for the December Community Day.

In conjunction with the Community Day announcements, Niantic also revealed dates for other events in the “Max Out” season.
Players can look forward to Research Day on December 7 and Max Battle Day on December 8, followed by additional Raid Days and Hatch Days throughout December and January.
During Community Day, players can expect an increased shiny encounter rate for the featured Pokémon and various event bonuses, including higher XP gains, Rare Candy drops from catches, reduced Stardust costs for trades, and the chance to catch Smeargle through the Pokémon GO snapshot feature.
