Over $154,000 Worth of Methamphetamine Seized
On December 24, 2024, California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers in Victorville made a significant discovery during a routine traffic stop on US-395, just near the 15 Freeway.
The officers noticed a driver exhibiting unsafe turning behavior, prompting them to pull the vehicle over for further investigation.
Upon stopping the driver, officers observed signs indicative of alcohol and drug impairment.
This led to a more thorough investigation, ultimately resulting in the suspect’s arrest on DUI charges.
However, the situation took a more serious turn when officers conducted a search of the vehicle.
A Shocking Find
To their surprise, officers found over 44 pounds of methamphetamine concealed in the trunk of the vehicle.
The street value of the drugs was estimated to exceed $154,000.
The narcotics were meticulously packed in 20 large, air-sealed packages, emphasizing the scale of the operation.
The identity of the suspect remains undisclosed as the investigation is ongoing.
CHP officials praised the officers for their diligence in removing both a dangerous driver and a significant quantity of illegal drugs from the streets.
A Call for Safety
In a statement, CHP officials emphasized the importance of safe driving, especially during the holiday season.
“Well done removing a dangerous driver and this dangerous substance from the roads,” they noted.
They encouraged the public to designate sober drivers and to report any observed dangerous driving behaviors by calling 911.
